DESCRIPTION
On July 11, 2018, the County Manager approved Agreement 18-041 with Dream Traxx, LLC, as a result Sole Source (SS 18-487), to conceptualize and build a world class All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) open riding track on 12 acres located at the west end of the Bone Valley ATV Park. The agreement was for a five-year period, which expired July 11, 2023.
Due to the popularity of the ATV park, Parks and Natural Resources requested Procurement to solicit a new notice of intent to sole source an agreement with Dream Traxx for the purpose of conceptualizing and building a 25-acre motocross track on the northern portion of the park property to allow for dirt bike practice and race events. No other vendors indicated they could provide the services. As a result, the Parks and Natural Resources Divisions negotiated the attached 5-year agreement in the amount of $240,075.00. The agreement provides for the design and development of the additional track to be located in the northern section of the park. It is estimated that the motocross track will be completed within ninety days of a notice to proceed.
It is anticipated that additional amendments will be brought to the Board for approval that will request the vendor to design and develop further trails along with providing for maintenance and repairs of current tracks, provide training to County staff in the maintenance and repairs of tracks and trails and provide consultation for the planning and execution of special events.
Dream Traxx, LLC is a Winter Haven company with a tremendous world-wide reputation within the off-road vehicle community. Having them continue to assist with development of the Bone Valley ATV Park benefits Polk County citizens and visitors to central Florida.
