DESCRIPTION
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has agreed to provide the City with a Local Agency Program (LAP) Grant fund in the amount of $763,880.14 for the North Lake Fitness Trail Project (FPN: 452132-1). This is broken down into $381,940.07 for design (FY 24), $381,940.07 for construction.
The proposed connector Trail is 0.64 miles long, starting east of 17/92 SR HWY Scenic Highway and CR 547 and Northwest Boulevard, connecting West of North Boulevard and then West and South of West Street. West Street will continue east to the Tom Fellows Community Center then continue north, to 17/92 HWY. Scenic Highway.
This Interlocal Agreement is required since the City of Davenport is not LAP certified, and Polk County is LAP certified to manage this project. Therefore, Polk County will be acting as the FDOT’s project manager through design and construction as required by the LAP agreement. However, the City will be responsible for any and all costs associated with this project that are in excess of the State provided funds.
RECOMMENDATION
Request Board approve and execute the Interlocal Agreement with the City for the North Lake Fitness Trail Project.
