DESCRIPTION
On November 5, 2019, the Board of County Commissioners approved CSA No. 17-058-02 with the Consultant to provide professional engineering services for the design and permitting of intersection improvements at the N. Galloway Road and Sleepy Hill Road intersection for a not-to-exceed fee of $179,901.14.
On July 7, 2020, the Board of County Commissioners approved CSA No. 17-058-02, Modification No. 1 with the Consultant for additional design and permitting services that were required as part of a necessary cross drain adjustment to meet minimum clear zone requirements for a not-to-exceed fee of $9,984.56.
Construction of the intersection improvements began on June 1, 2022 and has since experienced multiple revisions to the proposed utility adjustments by the affected Service Providers requiring revisions to the roadway and lighting construction plans. The awarded Contractor has also submitted multiple requests for information and requests for modification to the original design resulting in additional post-design effort.
Therefore, an amendment to the Scope of Services is needed to allow the Consultant to complete the additional post-design services necessary to complete construction as detailed in "Exhibit A" at a not-to-exceed cost of $6,580.00. This will bring the total project to a not-to-exceed cost of $196,465.70.
RECOMMENDATION
Request the Board approve Modification No. 2 to CSA No. 17-058-02 with the Consultant and amend the Scope of Services at a cost not-to-exceed $6,580.00.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds are budgeted and available in the Transportation Millage Fund.
