DESCRIPTION
The County owns and operates the Edgehill Water Production Facility (WPF) on Cottonwood Rd south of I-4 and east of US 27 in the Northeast Regional Utility Service Area. The Edgehill WPF is currently offline due to excess sand production and other water quality concerns with the two onsite wells. Preliminary assessments indicate redevelopment and cleaning of the wells may restore the wells to operation and reduce or eliminate the sand production. The County has requested the consultant to provide project management, support services, hydrogeologic evaluation services, and a final report documenting the results of the remediation efforts.
RECOMMENDATION
Request Board approve Consultant Services Authorization 18-063-06 with WSP USA, Inc. for the Edgehill WPF Well Rehabilitation and Sand Production Remediation project at a cost not to exceed $194,501.94.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funding is available in the Utilities Community Investment Program Miscellaneous Service project budget.
