DESCRIPTION
Research Agreement 18-019 with the University of Central Florida (UCF) was approved on May 1, 2018. The County owns and operates the 2.16 million gallons per day (MGD) Hodge Street Water Production Facility (WPF) in the County’s East Regional Utility Service Area. Hodge Street WPF is interconnected with the Waverly WPF but serves as the primary source of supply. The County has requested that UCF perform an evaluation of treatment processes to determine effectiveness of the removal of total organic carbon and sulfides. The evaluation will also include the granular activated carbon (GAC) beds while also attempting to predict timelines and schedules for carbon replacement.
