DESCRIPTION

This is a County-initiated ordinance amending the Land Development Code Section 207.K Temporary Emergency Shelters to allow such shelters to be utilized in the event of new construction or replacement of a primary residence on vacant parcels located outside of platted subdivisions On August 3, 2022, the Planning Commission voted 7-0 to recommend approval.

 

Section 163.3202, Florida Statutes (F.S.) requires the Board to adopt Land Development Code (LDC) regulations consistent with the implementation of the Polk County Comprehensive Plan. Amendments to the LDC require two public hearings before the Board to be adopted. This is the adoption hearing.
