DESCRIPTION
County Health Departments were created throughout Florida to promote the public’s health, control and eradicate preventable diseases, and provide primary care for special populations.
This agreement provides financial support for the County Health Department to provide core services pursuant to Section 154.101(2), Florida Statutes, including, but not limited to communicable disease control services, which protect the health of the general public through detection, control, and eradication of diseases. The services include epidemiology, sexually transmissible disease detection and control, HIV/AIDS, immunization, tuberculosis control and maintenance of vital statistics. The agreement is for October 1, 2022 through September 30, 2023.
RECOMMENDATION
Request Board approve the agreement for core public health services with the Florida Department of Health in Polk County.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds are budgeted in the Indigent Health Care Fund.
