DESCRIPTION
The County acquired a fee interest in Parcel ID Number 262829-632000-005110 through an Escheatment Tax Deed dated August 15, 2022 which was subsequently recorded in Official Records Book 12378 at Page 2214. The parcel is a vacant nearly square shaped parcel, containing approximately 6,100 square feet, located along the south side of Avenue “A” SW to the east of Lake Howard Drive within the municipal limits of the City of Winter Haven (hereinafter “City”).
Florida Statutes allow for the conveyance of lands acquired by the County for delinquent taxes to the municipality in which the land is located. The City has been contacted and has agreed to the conveyance of the property. Authorizing the conveyance of the subject parcel to the City will allow the parcel to be removed from the County Land Inventory and eliminate any future maintenance responsibilities associated with the parcel. The subject parcel is being conveyed in “as is” condition and the conveyance of the property will be by County Deed.
RECOMMENDATION
Request Board authorize the conveyance, by County Deed of the County’s interest including any interest that may otherwise be reserved by Florida Statutes, in the above-mentioned parcel to the City of Winter Haven
