DESCRIPTION

This is a County-initiated request for a LDC Text amendment to amend Chapter 2, Section 218, Boats, Utility Trailers, Sports Vehicles and Recreational Vehicles to limit the size of utility trailers parked on residential lots and Section 219 to add regulations for vehicle repair within residential districts. State law requires one Planning Commission hearing, which was held on May 1, 2024. The Planning Commission recommended approval.

Section 163.3202, Florida Statutes (F.S.) requires the Board to adopt Land Development Code (LDC) regulations consistent with the implementation of the Polk County Comprehensive Plan. Amendments to the LDC require two public hearings before the Board to be adopted. This is the first of the two hearings.
