DESCRIPTION
The Providence (FKA Oak Hills) Well No. 4 was drilled approximately 15 years ago by the developer of the Providence development as part of a series of wells intended to serve the needs of the development that would ultimately be owned and operated by Polk County Utilities. The location of the well at that time was remote to the development so the needed infrastructure, easements, and rights-of-way were not yet platted. The infrastructure for the subdivision has now reached the location for the well. As part of the construction, a raw water main was constructed to accommodate the undeveloped well.
The construction of Holly Hills Well No. 2 is now completed. This well has been planned for the Holly Hills WTP as part of the water supply for the Northeast Service Area.
This scope of services will provide for the design of the wellhead. Included in the design is flow testing of the well, design of the well pump, SCADA, instrumentation and controls, and piping for the production wells.
The project also includes the evaluation of an existing agricultural formerly owned by the Holly Hill Fruit Company. The permit allocations and ownership of the well has been transferred to Polk County Utilities. The scope of services includes evaluating the well to determine if it can be put into service or if the allocation can be transferred to an existing water treatment facility.
RECOMMENDATION
Request Board approve Consultant Services Authorization 2024-015-01 with Kennedy/Jenks Consultants, Inc. for the Holly Hill UFA No. 2 and Oak Hills No. 4 Wellheads project at a cost not-to-exceed $485,710.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funding in the amount of $485,710 is available in the Utilities Community Investment Program Budget.
