DESCRIPTION
On September 19, 2023, the Board of County Commissioners approved the award of Contract No. 2023-050 to Killebrew, Inc. for the Crooked Lake Park Receivership Lift Station and Force Main Improvements project for a total contract price of $4,639,477.00. Following Board approval of the contract, Killebrew, Inc. commenced with the requested site improvements which includes construction of a new gravity sewer main. Actual field conditions of the existing infrastructure necessitated reconstruction of a portion of already newly constructed 8" gravity sewer for the new Lift Station 375 to ensure satisfactory operations.
Contract No. 2023-050 with Killebrew, Inc. in the amount of $4,639,477.00 includes an Allowance Work amount of $220,927.00. Allocating $144,221.06 out of the Allowance Work funds to account for reconstruction of the 8" gravity sewer main (detailed in Allowance Authorization No. 1, attached) will facilitate the continuation of this critical work and eventual conveyance of wastewater flows to the City of Lake Wales. A balance of $76,705.94 will remain in the Allowance Work funds. Additionally, the aforementioned contract includes 55 days of allowance time which are being requested for the gravity sewer main reconstruction.
RECOMMENDATION
Approve Allowance Authorization Release No. 1 to Contract 2023-050 with Killebrew, Inc. for the Crooked Lake Park Receivership Lift Station and Force Main Improvements project in the amount of $144,221.06 and 55 days of allowance time.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds are budgeted in the Coronovirus Local Fiscal Recovery Plan (ARP) Fund within the Utilities Division five-year CIP in the Crooked Lake Park Receivership project.
