DESCRIPTION
The County purchased a 4.98-acre property located on Doc Lindsey Road in 2017 with the intent to develop a public boat ramp facility on the eastern shore of Lake Buffum. The existing public boat access is a little more than a quarter mile south of this property and has very limited parking and only provides seasonal lake access due to the shallow water conditions at the site. The new facility will provide ample parking with a concrete ramp that will provide all-season access to the lake and allow the County to dispose of or re-purpose the current property.

The new facility will include paved access with travel lanes, a minimum of 15 vehicle / trailer combination stabilized parking area with overflow parking, concrete boat ramp and a floating dock.

Design and permitting for the facility were completed and the Board approved a contract with Cobb Site Development for construction on December 19, 2023. Construction began January 2024.

The current CSA with Pennoni includes providing construction administration services for a 180-day construction period; however, the approved contract with Cobb Site Development is for 270 days to complete construction. This CSA Modification will allow Pennoni to continue providing the construction administration services for the duration of the project. These services include, but are not limited to, site inspections, pay application reviews, Allowance and Change Order reviews, attending construction progress meetings and verifying all contractor work meets specifications.
