DESCRIPTION
The Risk Management Division requested Procurement to solicit proposals from qualified firms to provide employee health and wellness benefits consulting services.
The services to be provided include ongoing assessment of our self-funded medical and pharmacy plans to include but not limited to claims projections, recommendations for plan design changes, attend monthly health insurance meetings, advise on upcoming and current medical legislative requirements, etc.
There are approximately 3,900 Board and Constitutional employees, plus spouses and dependents, and 400 retirees that participate in the health and pharmacy plans currently provided by Aetna. It is estimated that the County will pay Aetna approximately $ 71 million in health insurance claims this fiscal year and these services are needed to assist in mitigating increases to employer and employee premiums.
Request for Proposal (RFP) 24-339, Employee Health and Wellness Benefits Consulting was issued, and two vendors submitted proposals. The selection committee met on July 23, 2024, to evaluate and score the proposals. The consensus of the selection committee was to request the Board authorize staff to enter into contract negotiations with the highest scored proposer, Willis Towers Watson US.
The proposer's scores are as follows:

A recommendation of award was posted, and no protests were received.
