Authorize an Easement to the City of Lakeland in conjunction with electric service to the Moore Road Fire Station. (No fiscal impact)

DESCRIPTION
Polk County has a project to construct a new fire rescue station along Moore Road near Old Polk City Road to alleviate increased strain on existing stations due to growth. The project is nearing completion and the City of Lakeland [Lakeland Electric] (hereinafter “City”), as the authorized provider of electric utility services, agreed to provide electric service to the station but has requested an easement over its installed facilities prior to energizing the lines. The installation of the electric facilities has been completed and a legal description for an easement measuring approximately 10-feet wide was prepared and submitted to the City. The City has agreed to the easement area and has prepared and submitted an Easement document for review and approval. Approving and authorizing the Easement will give the City the easement needed to operate and maintain its facilities and thereby allow it to energize the electric line for the project.
RECOMMENDATION
Request Board authorize the aforementioned Easement to the City of Lakeland.
