Removal of Uncollectible Accounts from the Rohr Home’s Active Accounts Receivable (No Fiscal Impact)

DESCRIPTION
Request Board approval to reclassify $30,583.84 of active accounts receivable records as uncollectible. Of this amount, partial reimbursement from Medicare Part A copays may be recovered on the annual Medicare Cost Report as uncollectible bad debt. This amount is estimated to be $7,883.20.
The balance of $22,700.64 (net of anticipated Medicare Part A cost recovery) will be moved to an uncollectible debts database.
RECOMMENDATION
Approve request to remove $30,583.84 from the active accounts receivable, reclassifying it as uncollectible and transferring $22,700.64 to an uncollectible database.
FISCAL IMPACT
The Fiscal Impact will be accounted for by the Allowance for Uncollectible Accounts.
