Resolution Adopting FDOT Safety Performance Targets

Summary:
The Polk TPO has adopted a goal of safe and fatality-free travel conditions on Polk County roads. On a yearly basis, the TPO adopts FDOT’s established Safety Performance targets of zero fatalities and serious injuries on all public roads. When it comes to meeting these targets as measured over a five-year period, Polk’s place among Florida counties has remained relatively the same, except when it comes to the serious injury and fatality rate per 100 million VMT.
Recommended Action:
Approval of recommend approval from the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) of Draft TPO Resolution 2025-01.
