DESCRIPTION
On September 19, 2023, the Board of County Commissioners approved the award of Contract No. 2023-050 to Killebrew, Inc. for the Crooked Lake Park Receivership Lift Station and Force Main Improvements project for a total contract price of $4,639,477.00. Following Board approval of the contract, Killebrew, Inc. commenced with the requested site improvements which includes construction of a new gravity sewer main to accommodate existing flows to Lift Station 375. Actual field construction revealed the existing Lift Station 375 to be comprised of stacked reinforced concrete pipes. Field conditions render removal of the structure prohibitive. It was necessary to re-route and bypass the existing Lift Station 375 structure via additional gravity sewer and manhole improvements. Approval of the contract change order increase of $183,310.00 and the additional time extension of 147 days will facilitate completion of this critical work and eventual conveyance of all wastewater flows to the City of Lake Wales.
RECOMMENDATION
Approve Change Order No. 1 to Contract 2023-050 with Killebrew, Inc. for the Crooked Lake Park Receivership Lift Station and Force Main Improvements project in the amount of $183,310.00 and 147-day time extension.
FISCAL IMPACT
ARP funding in the amount of $183,310.00 is available in the Crooked Lake Park Receivership project.
