DESCRIPTION
On December 13, 2016, the Board adopted Ordinance No. 16-078 establishing an exemption from certain ad valorem taxation for an expanding Polk County business, IGT Global Solutions Corporation (the “Company”). Pursuant to that certain Ad Valorem Tax Exemption Performance Agreement entered into between the County and the Company on the same date, the Company is required to file an annual report with the County each year of its Exemption Period, defined in the Ordinance as Tax Year 2018 through Tax Year 2027.
On March 23, 2026, the County sent written notice to the Company informing them of their failure to satisfy the annual reporting requirement by March 1 of this year and giving the company thirty (30) days to cure such failure, as required by the Performance Agreement. The Company has failed to cure within the time permitted, and the County may now exercise its right to revoke the exemption previously granted for IGT Global Solutions Corporation. A public hearing is required to consider adoption of an ordinance repealing Ordinance 16-078.
RECOMMENDATION
Set a public hearing on May 5, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. for purposes of considering adoption of an ordinance repealing Ordinance 16-078, the Economic Development Ad Valorem Tax Exemption for IGT Global Solutions Corporation.
FISCAL IMPACT
No fiscal impact will be realized by setting the hearing.
