DESCRIPTION
On February 15, 2022, the Board approved CSA No. 17-059-04 with the Consultant to provide professional engineering services for the design of the CR 542A (Galloway Road N) at 10th Street West Intersection Project at a cost not-to-exceed $253,246.38. Tasks included a traffic study, environmental permitting, roadway and drainage design, utility coordination, subsurface utility exploration (SUE) and a geotechnical investigation. During the analysis, the roundabout option was chosen over a traffic signal for this location.

On April 18, 2023, the Board approved Modification No. 1 which added street lighting, additional SUE, a public mailout, and a Level 1 contamination assessment for an abandoned gas station on the southeast corner. This amendment increased the contract amount by $127,745.88.

During a SWFWMD pre-application meeting on April 20, 2023, it was determined that this project is adjacent to a tributary of Itchepackesassa Creek and will have floodplain impacts and floodplain compensation will be required. Also, when the Level 1 screening was performed the abandoned gas station on the southeast corner was given a risk ranking of ‘High’. Level 2 testing, which tests for soil and groundwater contamination, is needed to determine if there are any leaking underground storage tanks.

A second amendment to the Scope of Services was needed for additional drainage design including floodplain compensation, pavement re-design due to a high water table, Maintenance of Traffic phasing, and a Level 2 contamination assessment for the Project at a cost of $97,545.90.

On August 6th, 2024, the Board approved Modification No. 3 to the Scope of Services, which added Right-of-Way support for revisions ...
