DESCRIPTION
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has agreed to provide Congressionally Designated Federal Funds (CD-F392) in the amount of $800,000.00 (FY 24) for the street resurfacing, ADA and tree improvements to East Orange Avenue and East Crystal Avenue in the City of Lake Wales (City).
On September 19, 2023, the Board approved an Interlocal Agreement with the City since the City is not LAP certified and cannot accept the FDOT funding. Polk County is LAP certified and will be acting as the FDOT’s project manager through construction.
Amendment No. 1 to the ILA is needed to ensure that the City will be responsible for reimbursing the County for construction costs that are in excess of the $800,000.00 in State provided funds.
RECOMMENDATION
Request the Board to approve and authorize the Chairperson to execute Amendment No. 1 to the Interlocal Agreement with the City for the Minor Streetscape Improvement Project for East Orange Avenue and East Crystal Avenue.
