DESCRIPTION
Waste and Recycling requested Procurement to solicit proposals for the purpose of leasing waste collection trucks for County staff to use to collect residential solid waste in the southern part of the County. The County currently has a piggyback agreement with RDK Assets, Inc. to lease 3 trucks to perform these services for 1,300 residents. The current agreement is set to expire March 19, 2024. The County needs to have another agreement in place to continue to lease waste collection trucks once the current lease expires to continue to provide waste collection services.
Starting October 1, 2024, the County will be increasing the County self-performed waste collection service area from 1,300 residents to approximately 13,000 residents which will equate to leasing 9 waste collection trucks to perform the services.
Request for Proposal (RFP) 24-124, Long Term Waste Collection Truck Lease was issued, and one vendor submitted a proposal. The selection committee met on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, to evaluate and score the proposal. After the scoring, the consensus of the selection committee was to forgo the interview and request the Board authorize staff to enter into contract negotiations with the one proposer, RDK Assets, Inc.
