DESCRIPTION
The owners of a parcel of land located along Poyner Road in the Polk City area contacted the County to inquire if the County had any interest in purchasing the property. The property, currently identified as Parcel ID Number 252519-000000-031180, is a vacant rectangular shaped parcel containing approximately 1-acre with road frontage along Poyner Road. County staff reviewed the parcel and determined that the property, which is located in state designated conservation area known as the Green Swamp Florida Forever Board of Trustees Project area, could be utilized for conservation preservation purposes and is located immediately adjacent to a parcel already owned by the County for this purpose. The County offered the owners, Roman and Annette Stadnyk, the proposed amount of $4,000 for the purchase of the property, based on the Property Appraiser’s assessed value. The owners have agreed to the proposed purchase amount and have executed a Land Purchase Agreement. Approving the Land Purchase Agreement will allow the County to purchase and take ownership of the subject property for conservation preservation.
RECOMMENDATION
Request Board approve the aforementioned Land Purchase Agreement and authorize the issuance of a check in the amount of $4,000 for the purchase.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds are available in the amount of $4,000 for the purchase in the Environmental Lands Acquisition Fund.
