DESCRIPTION
The Roads and Drainage Division requested Procurement to solicit bids from qualified contractors who were interested in a minor streetscape project in the City of Lake Wales. The project primarily consists of street resurfacing, constructing a sidewalk, ADA ramps, and installing a rain garden in the city.
Bid 25-677, City of Lake Wales Orange and Crystal Avenue Project was issued, and four contractors submitted a bid.

A recommendation of award was issued to American Design Engineering Construction, Inc., and no protests were received. In accordance with Resolution No. 13-066, $39,374.00 was added to the contract for allowance work for a total contract amount of $826,872.95. The contract time for this project is 180 days to final completion. Allowance time for the project is 27 days.
This project is partially funded through a federally funded Local Agency Program (LAP) through the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). The FDOT has reviewed the documents and approves the County to enter into a construction contract with the lowest bidder American Design Engineering Construction, Inc.
RECOMMENDATION
Request Board approve a construction contract with American Design Engineering Construction, Inc. in the amount of $826,872.95 for Bid 25-677, City of Lake Wales Orange and Crystal Avenue Project.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funding is available in the Special Revenue Grant Fund and Transportation Millage Fund within the Roads and Drainage CIP.
