DESCRIPTION
The County has received the following requests to adopt resolutions vacating, abandoning, discontinuing, closing, renouncing, and disclaiming any rights of the County or the public in certain platted and unmaintained right-of-way and deeded and maintained right-of-way. Florida Statutes, Section 336.10, requires the Commissioners hold a public hearing to consider Petitions adopting resolutions vacating, abandoning, discontinuing, closing, renouncing, and disclaiming property under their control. Setting a public hearing date will comply with Florida Statutes and allow the request to be considered.
Request Board set a public hearing date for the following requests to vacate platted and unmaintained and deeded and maintained right-of-way. Suggested Hearing Date: Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at 9:00 a.m., or immediately following the regular agenda:
1. On Board’s Motion, consider a request to adopt a resolution vacating a portion of deeded and maintained right-of-way for Mosley Road as described in O.R. Book 261 at Pages 56 and 57 lying east of the right-of-way associated with a recent realignment of the roadway as well as any public interest in portions of a strip of land depicted and identified as “15’ reserved for county road” on the plat of Camp Monson recorded in Plat Book 28 at Page 25 appearing to be a reference to a public road reservation first found in a deed recorded in Deed Book 292, at Page 555, all of the public records of Polk County, Florida. The subject rights-of-way lie in Section 33, Township 27 South, Range 26 East.
2. On Board’s Motion, consider a request to adopt a resolution vacating a portion of platted and unmaintained right-of-way shown as Marina Drive, lying adjacent to Track “KK”, as shown on the plat of Poinciana Neighborhood 3 North, Village 7, as recorded in Plat Book 63, at Pages 19 through 22, Public Records of Polk County, Florida. The subject right-of-way lies in Sections 9 and 10, Township 28 South, Range 28 East.
RECOMMENDATION
Request Board set a Public Hearing at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, or immediately following the regular agenda, to consider the preceding items.
