DESCRIPTION

On March 15, 2022, the Board approved Contract No. 2022-016 with the Contractor in the amount of $19,204,371.81 to construct the Lake Wilson Road Widening Project.

On December 20, 2022, the Board approved Change Order Number 1 for Plan Revision 2 which increased the contract by $166,293.77, resulting in a new total contract amount of $19,370,665.58.

On January 3, 2023, the Board approved Change Order Number 2 to reimburse the Contractor for the permit and bond required by the Osceola County Public Works Department for the portion of work to be performed in Osceola County.  This increased the contract by $280,623.48, resulting in a new total contract amount of $19,651,289.06. 

On May 16, 2023, the Board approved Change Order Number 3 to add in the Tohopekaliga Water Authority (TOHO) contingency funds authorized per the Interlocal Agreement dated March 15, 2022.  This increased the contract by $211,840.00, resulting in a new total contract amount of $19,863,129.06. 

On June 20, 2023, the Board approved Change Order Number 4 for Plan Revision 3 which increased the contract by $239,132.31, resulting in a new total contract amount of $20,102,261.37. Revision 3 plans added constructing a new slope, which will add fill dirt to shallow out the steep slope and add filter fabric and rip rap at the water’s edge for easier long-term maintenance. This revision also extended the traffic separator and stop bar for eastbound Ronald Reagan Parkway onto northbound Lake Wilson Road to improve safety.

On November 7, 2023, the Board approved Amendment #1 to the Interlocal Agreement (ILA) with the Tohopekaliga Water Authority (TOHO). TOHO elected to utilize the County’s Road Contractor to complete the relocation work to their water system.  Amendment #1 authorized the addition of $145,943.68 in contingency funds. Per the Agreement, TOHO will reimburse the County for any contingency amount used. This will increase the contract by $145,943.68 for a new total contract amount of $20,248,205.05, with no additional contract time.

RECOMMENDATION

Request the Board approve Change Order No. 5 to Contract No. 2022-016 with the Contractor in the amount of $145,943.68 resulting in a new total contract amount of $20,248,205.05, for the Lake Wilson Road Widening Project.

FISCAL IMPACT

Funds are budgeted in the Transportation Impact Fee District C Fund.
