title

DESCRIPTION

The Wilder Road Sidewalk Project is in the finalized list of public sidewalk project requests prioritized by the Polk County Sidewalk Advisory Committee for Fiscal Year 2024-2025. Funding for this Project was approved at the Budget Public Hearing of the Polk County Board of County Commissioners for FY 24/25.

The Wilder Road Sidewalk Project, from Matthews Road to N. Socrum Loop Road is in the Lakeland area, in unincorporated Polk County.

On April 1, 2025, the Board approved CSA No. 22-095-05 with the Consultant at a total not-to-exceed fee of $164,860.00 to provide professional engineering services for this Project.

A utility coordination meeting was held on November 2025. During the meeting, substantial water main relocations were identified for Polk County Utilities. The COUNTY has requested that the CONSULTANT modify the design to propose the sidewalk on the south side of Wilder Road instead of the north side to avoid the water main relocation for Polk County Utilities (estimated cost of water main relocation ± $500,000).

Amendment No.1 to CSA No. 22-095-05 is required to allow the Consultant to modify the design to propose the sidewalk on the south side of Wilder Road, as described in Attachment “A” of this Amendment. This will increase the contract amount by $78,316.00 and will bring the total not-to-exceed fee to $243,176.00.

RECOMMENDATION

Request the Board approve Amendment No. 1 to CSA No. 22-095-05 with the Consultant, resulting in a new total not-to-exceed contract amount of $243,176.00 for the Wilder Road Sidewalk Project.

FISCAL IMPACT

Funds are budgeted and available in the Transportation Millage Fund.
