DESCRIPTION
In 2017, Polk County submitted a grant application to the FDOT under the Local Agency Program (LAP) for design, construction and construction engineering & inspection (CEI) services for sidewalk and street lighting along Morgan Combee Road, woodland Avenue, and Broadway Street. The grant was approved and the FDOT has agreed to fund and now proposes to enter into a LAP Agreement (FPN: 446549-1-58/68-01) with the County to provide funds in the amount $740,122.00. This Agreement will include construction of new sidewalk and streetlights along the above-mentioned roads. Existing utilities will be relocated as needed.
The FDOT will provide $643,584.00 in FY 25/26 for construction expenses, and $96,538.00 in FY 25/26 for CEI expenses, totaling $740,122.00 for the Project. The County will be responsible for any costs in excess of the State provided funds. The current engineer’s construction cost estimate is $3,555,964.16.
A CIP Amendment and Budget Transfer from the Special Revenue Grants Fund are needed to establish the Combee Academy SRTS project in the Roads & Drainage Division CIP.
RECOMMENDATION
Request Board authorize the Chairperson to execute the LAP Agreement (FPN: 446549-1-58/68-01) with the FDOT, resolution, Budget resolution to establish unanticipated revenue in the amount of $740,122.00.
FISCAL IMPACT
Upon approval of CIP Amendment and Budget resolution , funding in the amount of $740,122.00 will be available within the Special Revenue Grants Fund in the Combee Academy SRTS Sidewalk and Street Lighting Project with in the Roads and Drainage CIP
