DESCRIPTION
On February 5, 2019, the Board approved Agreement 19-004, with The Lunz Group, Inc., for the development of a fire rescue station prototype to be used for up to thirteen stations. The Sleepy Hill Fire Rescue Station was used to develop the prototype. The agreement was in the amount of $280,876.00.
When a fire rescue station is to be built, an amendment to the agreement with the Lunz Group is to be brought to the Board for approval for designing the station using the prototype, developing construction bid documents along with construction administration.
On October 1, 2019, the Board approved amendments No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 to use the prototype to design the following fire stations: Frostproof (Amendment No. 1) in the amount of $144,975.00, Loughman (Amendment No. 2) in the amount of $185,080.00 and Nalcrest (Amendment No. 3) in the amount of $189,934.00.
On June 16, 2020, the Board approved amendment No. 4 to use the prototype to design the Galloway Road Fire Rescue Station in the amount of $145,225.00.
On October 19, 2021, the Board approved amendments No. 5 and No. 6, to use the prototype to design the following stations. Masterpiece Fire Rescue Station (Amendment No 5) in the amount of $194,007.00 and the Watkins Road Fire Rescue Station (Amendment No. 6) in the amount of $195,925.00.
On June 21, 2022, the Board approved amendment No. 7 to use the prototype to design the Moore Road Fire Rescue Station in the amount of $189,900.00.
On October 18, 2022, the Board approved amendment No. 8 to use the prototype to design the Eaton Park Fire Rescue Station in the amount of $197,500.00.
The Fire Rescue Division currently desires to proceed with using the prototype to design the Bradley Junction and the Caloosa Lake Fire Rescue Stations. The Lunz Group has provided a lump sum fee proposal in the amount of $301,810.00 for the Bradley Junction Station (Amendment No. 9) and $279,510.00 for the Caloosa Lake Fire Rescue Stations (Amendment No. 10).
RECOMMENDATION
Request Board approve Amendments No. 9 and No. 10 to Agreement No. 19-004, Architectural/Engineering Service Agreement with The Lunz Group, Inc. to provide prototype design services for the Bradley Junction Fire Rescue Station in the amount of $301,810.00 (Amendment No. 9) and Caloosa Lake Fire Rescue Station in the amount of $279,510.00 (Amendment No. 10).
FISCAL IMPACT
Funding is available in the General Capital Improvement Fund.
