DESCRIPTION
The Facilities Management division requested Procurement to solicit proposals from qualified vendors to provide architectural and engineering services for the new Kathleen Government Center. The new Government Center will be located on County owned property at 6895 Kathleen Road in the northwestern area of Lakeland. This new facility will be constructed to meet the current and future needs of the 10th Judicial Circuit Court, the County, and its citizens. Preliminary projections for the facility include a 75,000 square-foot building with walking trails, green space, a playground and other community spaces on a 27-acre site.
Request for Proposal (RFP) 26-290, A&E Services for the new Kathleen Government Center was issued, and six vendors submitted proposals. The selection committee met on August 17, 2026, to evaluate and score the proposals and elevated the top four ranked vendors to interviews. On September 8, 2026, the selection committee received presentations from the four top-ranked proposers. After the interviews, the consensus of the selection committee was to request the Board authorize staff to enter into negotiations with all proposers that were interviewed, beginning with the highest ranked proposer, Grace Design Studios.
