DESCRIPTION
Marcobay Construction, Inc. to provide CMAR services for the new Agricultural Center Complex project. The complex is intended to celebrate Polk County’s rich heritage as an agricultural community while embracing future generations by providing educational opportunities, showcasing agricultural events and enhancing the quality of life for Polk County residents through economic impact.
The CMAR’s role includes:
1. Pre-construction phase services include working with the design consultant, The Lunz Group and county staff providing construction cost estimating, value engineering suggestions, constructability reviews; set up and manage pre-bid conferences with sub-contractors, bid solicitation services, along with set up and managing pre-award meetings with sub-contractors. The fee will not exceed $80,150.00.
2. After pre-construction services are complete, the Construction Manager will present to the County a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) to construct the new agricultural center complex. This additional cost will be brought back to the Board for approval as an amendment to their agreement before construction services begin. The Construction Manager shall furnish and pay for all services, materials, and labor to fully perform and complete the construction of the work in accordance with the terms and conditions of the agreement.
RECOMMENDATION
Request Board approve agreement with Marcobay Construction, Inc. to provide Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) pre-construction services for the new Agricultural Center Complex. Pre-construction phase services are not to exceed $80,150.00.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds are budgeted in the General Capital Improvement Fund
