DESCRIPTION
On July 25, 2023, the Board approved performance of a site assessment study for the existing Saddle Creek Park Maintenance Office facility. The site assessment study is complete. The study provided direction and cost estimates, which were to be used in the future budget years to fund improvements to our construction of the facilities.
The final site assessment report concluded that there would be significant remedial work to the current office building that would only serve as a temporary solution. The findings showed great concern for the building envelope and water intrusion. In addition to the structural concerns, it was also determined that for operations to run effectively and to provide the level of service required. The construction of a new building in a different area within Saddle Creek would allow operations to continue while construction of the new facility occurs. Once transitioned into the new building, the existing building will be demolished, and future storage will be addressed at a later date.
Parks and Natural Resources Division staff have identified an existing project design by CMHM Architects, Inc., with minor modifications, will meet their request. CSA No. 2021-032-06 provides architectural and engineering services for the construction of a new office and maintenance building within Saddle Creek Park campus area.
RECOMMENDATION
Request Board approve CSA No. 2021-032-06 with CMHM Architects, Inc. for Parks and Natural Resources Saddle Creek Park Office/Maintenance Area in the amount of $207,510.00.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds are available in the Leisure Services MSTU Fund.
