Authorize the conveyance of seven County owned parcels to the City of Lakeland. (No fiscal impact)

DESCRIPTION
The County acquired seven parcels through the statutory escheatment process on August 30, 2024. The parcels are vacant lots that lie within the municipal limits of the City of Lakeland (hereinafter “City”).
1. Parcel ID Number 232812-050500-003120 was acquired by a Corrective Escheatment Tax Deed recorded in Official Record Book 13250 at Page 983. The parcel contains approximately 4,356 square feet and is located along the south side of 6th Street to the east of Kettles Avenue.
2. Parcel ID Number 232812-050500-003130 was acquired by a Corrective Escheatment Tax Deed recorded in Official Record Book 13250 at Page 989. The parcel contains approximately 4,356 square feet and is located along the south side of 6th Street to the east of Kettles Avenue.
3. Parcel ID Number 232812-050500-003140 was acquired by a Corrective Escheatment Tax Deed recorded in Official Record Book 13250 at Page 988. The parcel contains approximately 4,356 square feet and is located at the southwest corner of the intersection of 6th Street and Texas Avenue.
4. Parcel ID Number 232812-051500-004070 was acquired by a Corrective Escheatment Tax Deed recorded in Official Record Book 13250 at Page 982. The parcel contains approximately 4,356 square feet and is located along at the northeast corner of the intersection of 3rd Street West and Ohio Avenue North.
5. Parcel ID Number 232813-067500-003141 was acquired by a Corrective Escheatment Tax Deed recorded in Official Record Book 13250 at Page 987. The parcel contains approximately 3,920 square feet and is located along the west side of Ohio Avenue North to the south of Pear Street.
6. Parcel ID Number 232813-067500-004040 was acquired by a Corrective Escheatment Tax Deed recorded in Official Record Book 13250 at Page 991. The parcel contains approximately 6,970 square feet and is located along the south side of Myrtle Street to the east of Lincoln Avenue.
7. Parcel ID Number 242819-218000-001020 was acquired by a Corrective Escheatment Tax Deed recorded in Official Record Book 13250 at Page 984. The parcel contains approximately 8,712 square feet and is located along the south side of Lime Street to the west of Bartow Road (US Highway 98).
Florida Statutes allow for the conveyance of lands acquired by the County for delinquent taxes to the municipality in which the land is located. The City has been contacted and has agreed to the conveyance of these properties. Authorizing the conveyance of the subject parcels to the City will allow the parcels to be removed from the County Land Inventory and eliminate any future maintenance responsibilities associated with the parcels. The subject parcels are being conveyed in “as is” condition and the conveyance of the properties will be by County Deed.
RECOMMENDATION
Request Board authorize the conveyance by County Deed of the County’s interest including any interest that may otherwise be reserved by Florida Statutes, in the above-mentioned parcels to the City of Lakeland.
