DESCRIPTION
Solid Waste requested Procurement to solicit proposals from qualified firms to provide landfill closure professional engineering services to include geotechnical and hydrogeological investigations, landfill final cover and groundwater remediation system design, preparation of bid documents, and construction administration services.
Request for Proposal (RFP) 24-654, Polk County Southeast Landfill Engineering Services was issued, and two vendors submitted proposals. The selection committee met on Monday, December 16, 2024, to evaluate and score the proposals. Both vendors were elevated for interviews. On December 19, 2024, the selection committee conducted interviews and received presentations from both proposers. After the interviews, the consensus of the selection committee was to request the Board authorize staff to enter into contract negotiations with all proposers, beginning with the highest ranked proposer, Geosyntec Consultants, Inc.

RECOMMENDATION
Request Board approve the selection committee’s recommendation and authorize staff enter into contract negotiations, beginning with the highest ranked proposer, Geosyntec Consultants, Inc. for RFP 24-654, Polk County Southeast Landfill Engineering Services, and moving to the second-highest ranked proposer if negotiations with Geosyntec Consultants, Inc. are unsuccessful.
FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal impact during negotiations.
