DESCRIPTION
The Roads and Drainage Division requested Procurement solicit bids from qualified contractors who were interested in the construction of approximately 1,061 feet of sidewalk and the re-construction of numerous driveways near Combee Academy of Design and Engineering. A five-foot wide sidewalk will be constructed on Morgan Combee Road from Combee Road to Woodland Avenue and Morganwood Drive to Ridge Lake Court (south and north side respectively). Street lighting will be designed and installed by Lakeland Electric. Existing utilities will be relocated and/or modified as needed. The project also includes drainage improvements associated with sidewalk enhancements.
This project is intended to create a continuous, accessible pedestrian pathway that enhances safety and mobility for residents and students. Once completed, the improvement will provide safe and functional access to Combee Academy, located on the south side of Morgan Combee Road.
Bid 26-045, Combee Academy SRTS Sidewalk and Street Lighting project was issued, and five contractors submitted a bid.

A recommendation of award was issued to Kamminga & Roodvoets, Inc. and no protests were received. In accordance with Resolution No. 13-066, $38,106.00 was added to the contract for allowance work for a total contract amount of $800,231.40. The contract time for this project is 150 days to final completion. Allowance time for the project is 22 days.
This project is partially funded through a federally funded Local Agency Program (LAP) through the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). The FDOT has reviewed the documents and approves the County to enter into a construction contract with the lowest responsive bidder Kamminga & Roodvoets, Inc.
RECOMMENDATION
Request Board approve a construction contract with Kamminga & Roodvoets, Inc. in the amount of $800,231.40 for Bid 26-045, Combee Academy SRTS Sidewalk and Street Lighting.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funding is budgeted and available in the Special Revenue Grant Fund within the Roads and Drainage 5 year CIP.
