DESCRIPTION
The Facilities Management Division requested Procurement to solicit bids from qualified contractors who were interested in the demolition and construction of new office and maintenance/storage facilities located at the roadway Frostproof location, 345 CR 630A, Frostproof, FL. Due to new growth in the area, an increase in staffing, and additional needed repairs to the structures, staff is recommending building a new 4,700 square foot office building, 4,100 square foot vehicle maintenance building, and 4,000 square foot vehicle storage building. This facility is part of the Roads and Drainage 10-year plan to replace the aging maintenance units.
Bid 24-127, Roadway Maintenance Facility - Frostproof was issued, and 5 contractors submitted a bid. The lowest responsive bid was submitted by Strickland Construction, Inc.

A recommendation of award was issued to Strickland Construction, Inc., and no protests were received. In accordance with Resolution No. 13-066, $210,000.00 was added to the contract for allowance work for a total contract amount of $4,410,00.00. The contract time for this project is 300 days. Allowance time for the project is 45 days.
RECOMMENDATION
Request Board approve construction contract with Strickland Construction, Inc. in the amount of $4,410,000.00 for Bid 24-127, Roadway Maintenance Facility - Frostproof.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds are available in the Transportation Millage Fund.
