DESCRIPTION

As part of the Polk County Employee Health Plan's commitment to providing comprehensive benefits support and cost management, the County has identified an opportunity to enhance employee benefits knowledge while achieving anticipated significant cost savings through federal benefits advocacy.

FEDlogic, LLC is a specialized consulting firm that provides expert navigation services for all federal and state benefit programs including Social Security Disability, Medicare, Medicaid, COBRA, and other federal entitlements. FEDlogic's team consists of highly trained former Social Security Administration professionals who provide unlimited, confidential consultations to help employees and their families understand and maximize their federal and state benefits. This service addresses a critical gap where individuals often struggle to navigate complex federal programs on their own, frequently missing opportunities for better coverage or cost savings.

The service is particularly valuable for employees approaching retirement age, those with disabilities, employees with high medical claims, and families facing financial hardship. Services are available for up to 4,850 benefit-eligible employees, part-time employees, and their families and dependents.  When appropriate, FEDlogic's education may help individuals identify federal programs for which they are eligible. Employees who voluntarily transition to alternative coverage can significantly reduce costs to the County Employee Health Plan.

Annual cost to the County is $203,700 for the contract term of December 1, 2025 through November 30, 2026. This investment is projected to generate substantial cost savings to the employee health plan through reduced claims costs and administrative efficiencies. FEDlogic provides a performance guarantee ensuring a minimum 1:1 return on investment.

 

RECOMMENDATION

Request Board approval to execute a Corporate Client Agreement with FEDlogic, LLC for federal and state benefits advocacy services for Polk County employees and their family members for an annual cost of $203,700.

 

FISCAL IMPACT

Funds are budgeted and available in the Employee Health Insurance Fund.
