DESCRIPTION

The Roads and Drainage Division requested Procurement solicit bids from qualified contractors who were interested in the construction of approximately 0.58 miles of ADA compliant sidewalk along Maine Avenue, spanning from Combee Road to Reynolds Road.

This project is intended to create a continuous, accessible pedestrian pathway that enhances safety and mobility for residents and students. Once completed, the improvement will provide safe and functional access to Oscar J. Pope Elementary School, located on the north side of Maine Avenue.

Bid 25-418, Maine Avenue Sidewalk Project was issued, and seven contractors submitted a bid.

A recommendation of award was issued to Rogar Management & Consulting of Florida, LLC and no protests were received. In accordance with Resolution No. 13-066, $115,175.00 was added to the contract for allowance work for a total contract amount of $2,418,685.50. The contract time for this project is 255 days to final completion. Allowance time for the project is 38 days.

 

This project is funded through a federally funded Local Agency Program (LAP) through the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). The FDOT has reviewed the documents and approves the County to enter into a construction contract with the lowest responsive bidder Rogar Management & Consulting of Florida, LLC.

 

RECOMMENDATION

Request Board approve a construction contract with Rogar Management & Consulting of Florida, LLC. in the amount of $2,418,685.50 for Bid 25-418, Maine Avenue Sidewalk Project.

FISCAL IMPACT

Funding is budgeted and available in the Special Revenue Grant Fund.
