DESCRIPTION
Hunt Fountian Park is a fully developed 60+ acre park located in the north Lakeland area of the County. It was constructed in the late 1970s and the population growth in the area has created a high demand for use of the athletic fields in the park. The youth soccer league in this facility has continued to grow.
In 2024, the Board approved a CSA with Chastain Skillman Inc. to design and permit the conversion of the four multi-purpose fields to artificial turf. This request was the result of the increase in league soccer participants, expanded soccer seasons, and poor drainage in the soccer field area, which has contributed to the deterioration of the existing four natural turf soccer fields. Converting the fields to artificial turf is an effective means to address field issues and allows for expanded use of the fields by eliminating down time for maintenance and turf recovery.
Parks and Natural Resources requested Procurement to solicit bids from qualified contractors to construct the four multi-purpose fields. Bid 25-635, Hunt Fountain Artificial Turf Fields was issued, and eight contractors submitted bids.

A recommendation of award was issued to Legacy Sports Construction LLC and no protests were received. In accordance with Resolution No. 13-066, $119,557.00 was added to the contract for allowance work for a total contract amount of $2,510,707.00. The contract time for this project is 240 days for final completion. Allowance time for the project is 36 days.
RECOMMENDATION
Request Board approve construction contract with Legacy Sports Construction LLC for the Hunt Fountain Park artificial turf fields project in the amount of $2,510,707.00.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds are budgeted and available within the 5-year Parks and Natural Resources CIP within the General Capital Improvement Fund.
