DESCRIPTION
Polk County Utilities requested Procurement solicit proposals from qualified firms to provide professional engineering services for improvements to the biosolids dewatering systems at the northwest and southwest regional wastewater treatment facilities as a result of a consultant evaluation. This project will provide alternative dewatering technology solutions due to the aging and maintenance needs of the mobile centrifuge units currently being utilized at the treatment facilities.
Request for Proposal (RFP) 23- 618, Engineering Services for the Dewatering Improvements to the Northwest and Southwest Regional Wastewater Treatment Facilities was issued, and two proposals were received. The selection committee met on Monday, October 30, 2023, to evaluate and score the proposals. On November 7, 2023, the selection committee conducted interviews and received presentations from both proposers. After the interviews, the consensus of the selection committee was to request the Board authorize staff to enter into negotiations with both proposers, beginning with the highest ranked Proposer, Hazen and Sawyer, P.C.

RECOMMENDATION
Request Board approve the selection committee’s recommendation and authorize staff to enter into negotiations, beginning with the highest ranked proposer, Hazen and Sawyer, P.C. of Tampa for RFP 23-618, Engineering Services for the Dewatering Improvements to the Northwest and Southwest Regional Wastewater Treatment Facilities, and moving to the second-highest ranked proposer, if negotiations with Hazen and Sawyer, P.C. are unsuccessful.
FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal impact during negotiations.
