DESCRIPTION

In accordance with CareerSource Florida Workforce Policy G105, local workforce development boards are required to obtain approval from the Chief Elected Official for:

                     Subsequent Board Redesignation, and

                     Board Composition Certification

to continue serving as the designated Local Workforce Development Board for the workforce planning region.

CareerSource Polk respectfully requests BoCC approval of its Subsequent Board Redesignation for Program Years (PY) 2026 through 2028, as well as approval of its Board Composition Certification, affirming that the Board’s current membership complies with all applicable federal and state statutory requirements, including the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) and Chapter 445, Florida Statutes.

CareerSource Polk has served as the designated Local Workforce Development Board for Polk County and continues to fulfill its responsibilities for strategic planning, policy development, fiscal oversight, and performance accountability for workforce programs serving job seekers and employers throughout the region. Approval of these requests will ensure continuity of governance, compliance with state policy, and eligibility to receive and administer workforce funding during the redesignation period.

The Subsequent Board Redesignation Request and Board Composition Certification, prepared in accordance with Workforce Policy G105 and including all required assurances and supporting documentation, are provided as attachments for the BoCC’s review and consideration.
