DESCRIPTION
On June 7, 2022, the Board approved Contract 2022-041 with Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. to provide final design services for the Thompson Nursery Road Extension and Widening project.
County staff negotiated with a separate Consultant (Burgess & Niple, Inc.) to provide construction plan review services for the 60% and 90% submittals. On April 18, 2023, the Board approved CSA 22-083-02 with the Consultant for Engineering Peer Review services for the TNR - Phase I roadway plans, signing and pavement markings plans, and lighting plans among other design documentation at a not-to-exceed fee of $197,365.60.
On June 16, 2026, the Board approved Amendment #4 to Contract 2022-041 with Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. to provide final design services for the TNR Widening - Phase II. County staff has negotiated with Burgess & Niple, Inc. (Consultant) the additional tasks to provide construction plan review services for the 60% and 90% submittals. The Consultant will be reviewing and providing comments on the roadway, traffic, signing and pavement markings, lighting plans among other design documentation. The Consultant will provide these services for an additional fee of $98,300.28. The new total not-to-exceed contract amount for the project is $295,665.88.
RECOMMENDATION
Request the Board approve CSA No. 22-083-02 Modification #1 with the Consultant for an additional $98,300.28, with a revised not-to-exceed total fee of $295,665.88, for Peer Review Services associated with the Thompson Nursery Road Widening - Phase II Project.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds are budgeted and available in the Transportation Impact Fee Zone C Fund.
