DESCRIPTION
Purpose: A need to alleviate and remedy affordable housing and investment capital shortages.
Creating Authority: Established by Ordinance No. 78-20.
Appointments: Five members appointed by District and approved by BoCC. Members are not required to reside within the District from which they are appointed. Not less than three of the members shall be knowledgeable in one of the following fields: labor, finance or commerce.
Term of Office: Four Years. Each member shall serve and continue to hold office until his successor is appointed. In the event of a vacancy in the office of any member during a term of office, the Board of County Commissioners shall appoint a successor for the period of the unexpired term.
Term Limits: No term limits. (The Housing Finance Authority is a separate public body corporate and politic created by statue and governed under the laws as put forth in the Florida Housing Finance Authority Law.)
Reason for Appointment: Expiration of current term.
RECOMMENDATION
Re-appoint Dr. Robert S. Hinds to serve as a member of the Housing Finance Authority for the four-year term, December 1, 2023, to November 30, 2027.
