Execute a Local Agency Program (LAP) Agreement No. 452132-1-58-01 with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), and Resolution to establish that Polk County will serve as the LAP manager on behalf of the City of Lake Wales for the Ridge Scenic Highway (RSH) Connector Trail project.

DESCRIPTION
The design of the RSH Connector Trail is currently in progress by KCA, Corp. The 8' wide multi-use trail is approximately 0.55 miles long, beginning at East Central just east of Scenic Highway, then turns north along North 3rd Street, then west at East Seminole Avenue, then north to the trail terminus of the existing Lake Wales Trailway. The LAP management of the design is covered under an executed lnterlocal Agreement between Lake Wales and Polk County and a Local Funding Agreement between FDOT and Polk County.
The proposed LAP Agreement is for construction funds for the RSH Connector Trail in the amount of $808,992.00 with Federal-aid funds provided by FDOT. The City of Lake Wales will be responsible for any costs in excess of these Federally provided funds.
All costs that exceed this amount will be the responsibility of the City of Lake Wales by way of an lnterlocal Agreement between the City of Lake Wales and Polk County.
RECOMMENDATION
Request the Board authorize the Chairperson to execute the LAP Agreement (FPN: 452132-1-58-01) with the FDOT.
