DESCRIPTION
As a result of a proposed residential development the County, through its Development Review Process, has requested utility easements for the construction and/or future maintenance of utility facilities associated with the development. The proposed development is located to the east of US Highway 17/92 near its intersection with Ernie Caldwell Boulevard in the northeast portion of the County. The plans include the construction of off-site wastewater utility improvements consisting of the installation of a force main along Ernie Caldwell Boulevard to connect the development to existing facilities near CR 547. The majority of the force main is proposed to be installed within existing rights-of-way or easements; however, portions of the proposed force main are located just outside of the right-of-way/easements. Three easements were previously identified to accommodate the installation and future maintenance of those portions of the force main located outside of the existing right-of-way/easements and the developer coordinated the granting of a Utility Easement from the adjacent property owner, Standard Sand & Silica Company, for the easement parcels, which was recently accepted by the Board and recorded. Since that time an additional easement parcel was identified along the east side of US Highway 17/92 containing approximately 2,125 square feet which is needed for the proposed force main. The developer coordinated the granting of a Utility Easement from Standard Sand & Silica for the additional easement, which has been executed and delivered to the County. Accepting the Utility Easement will give the County the additional easement needed to construct and/or maintain the utility facilities associated with the proposed development.
