DESCRIPTION
On May 28, 2026, The County Manager approved a JPA with the City that authorized the County’s Consultant (Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc.) to design all of the relocations and adjustments to the City’s water system that are required to accommodate the construction of the Thompson Nursery Road Extension (Phase I - Segment 1) Project. The construction bidding is now complete, and the County has selected a Contractor for the roadway work. The City has elected to utilize the County’s Roadway contractor to complete the relocation work to their water utility system. The City is funding 100% of the costs for the utility work. The City’s costs for the utility work are broken down as follows: $444,450.00 in construction costs, and $50,000.00 in construction contingency funds. The total cost to the City for this JPA is $494,450.00. Approval of this Agreement will allow the County’s Roadway contractor to complete all the required relocations to the City’s utility system, at the City’s expense.
RECOMMENDATION
Request the Board to approve and authorize the Chairman to execute the Joint Project Agreement with the City of Eagle Lake for the Thompson Nursery Road Extension (Phase I - Segment 1).
FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal impact for this agenda item. Funding will be provided by the City of Eagle Lake in the amount of $494,450.00.
