DESCRIPTION

Rancho Bonito is an unrecorded and unimproved subdivision located in the northwest part of Polk County comprised almost entirely of undeveloped lots.  For many years Rancho Bonito has been plagued with various criminal activities including, but not limited to, trespassing, theft, criminal mischief and illegal dumping.  In 2014 the County established the Rancho Bonito MSTU over the properties within the subdivision in order to generate revenues to help fund County and law enforcement services intended to alleviate the criminal activities.  Nearly all of the properties within the subdivision are privately owned which limits the County’s ability to discourage the unwanted activities; therefore, County ownership of lots within the subdivision would assist in those efforts.

William R. Lamboy acquired a property within the Rancho Bonito Subdivision in February 1988.  The property is a rectangular shaped vacant lot, identified as Parcel ID Number 222615-000000-033140, containing approximately 1.25-acres.  Mr. Lamboy has expressed that he has no need for the property and wishes to donate it to the County.  He has executed and delivered a Quit Claim Deed to the County for the property.  Accepting and approving the deed for recording will allow the County to take ownership and control of the property being donated.

RECOMMENDATION

Request Board accept the afore-mentioned Quit Claim Deed.

FISCAL IMPACT

No fiscal impact.
