DESCRIPTION
The Board on January 23, 2024, adopted Resolution 24-009 authorizing the Chairman to inquire about services from consultants to provide a review of the Fire Rescue Division. The consultant’s review will include:
i. Review of the general management of the Fire Rescue Division.
ii. Review of the standard operating procedures to determine if such procedures are sufficient to operate the division and the application of the procedures.
iii. Review the discipline process and issues to determine if discipline is consistent and what type of employee actions result in discipline.
iv. Review of management structure.
v. Leadership programs.
vi. Communication process.
vii. Workload analysis.
viii. Review employee morale within the Fire Rescue Division.
RECOMMENDATION
Approve Agreement for Professional Services with Allen Norton & Blue for review of the management of the Fire Rescue Division.
Designate the Chairman and the County Attorney to oversee the Agreement for Professional Services including providing instructions, receive information and interpret and define the County’s policy and decisions with respect to the Services to be provided pursuant to this Agreement.
FISCAL IMPACT
Not to exceed $100,000. Funds for the Agreement for Professional Services are available in the Budget for the County Attorney’s Office.
