body
DESCRIPTION
This Project is within the south Lakeland area of unincorporated Polk County and is located on the north side of County Road 540-A approximately 1.25-miles east of Lakeland Highlands Road. The goal of this Project is to install an underground stormwater pipeline that will extend from Lake Seward, generally northward along Tillery Road and terminate at Clubhouse Road.
Lake Seward is a 42-acre lake that serves as the receiving body for an approximately 2,300-acre closed basin watershed. The lake has a long history of periodic flooding and causing recurring property damage due to its characteristics of being landlocked and having no positive outlet. Most recently, several residential homes along Oakmont Lane were flooded for several weeks due to Hurricane Milton.
This CSA will retain the Consultant to provide design services for the permitting and installation of the underground pipeline. The pipeline will allow the Roads & Drainage Division to pump the Lake Seward area immediately post storm to help lessen flooding impacts to the surrounding area.
