DESCRIPTION

The State of Florida, Division of Emergency Management, hereinafter referred to as the “Division” and Polk County a political subdivision of the State of Florida hereinafter referred to as the “Recipient” have entered into an agreement where the Recipient is funded in part by the Emergency Management Performance Grant (EMPG), which is annually allocated to jurisdictions by Congress through the Division.  The $152,408.00 allocation will be used primarily for personnel cost and some operating expenses for the Emergency Management Program including Emergency Operations, Special Needs, Disaster Planning Initiatives, and Training Readiness Exercises, and requires dollar for dollar match by the Recipient.  The term of this agreement is from October 1, 2024 through March 31, 2026.

 

RECOMMENDATION

Request the Board approve the Emergency Management Preparedness and Assistance (EMPG) Subgrant Agreement and Certification of compliance with all the requirements contained in Chapter 27P-19, Florida Administrative Code and Section 252, Florida Statutes.

 

FISCAL IMPACT

Funds are budgeted in the Special Revenue EMPG Grant Fund.
