DESCRIPTION
Polk County Fire Rescue continues to participate in the PEMT Medicaid Fee for Service Program and the Managed Care Supplement Payment program. The Managed Care Program works through the existing Managed Care Organizations. Polk County Fire Rescue already has current contracts with Managed Care Organizations in our region. These State contracted insurance companies will report the total number of qualified participants transports performed by Polk County Fire Rescue quarterly to the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA). AHCA will then determine the state funding amount that will be distributed to each of the Managed Care Organizations and ultimately paid to Polk County Fire Rescue. The Intergovernmental Transfers (IGT) funds from Polk County Fire Rescue will only be used for this PEMT program.
ACHA will bill Polk County Fire Rescue an amount of $4,989,893.04 that will generate a total return of $11,664,079.10. This includes the Polk County Fire Rescue IGT of $4,989,893.04 and the additional Federal Funding of $6,674,186.06.
